About
Seta
Sunderland Engineering Training Association (Seta) is a not-for-profit Group Training Association providing apprenticeships and commercial training for engineering and business disciplines. Based in Washington, Tyne and Wear, Seta delivers accredited, industry‑recognised training to an advanced level, led by highly experienced staff with extensive industry knowledge, and has supported workforce development in the North East and beyond for more than 40 years. Its apprenticeships offer a launchpad into engineering, manufacturing and related industries, with apprentices gaining hands‑on, practical experience in Seta’s own workshop facilities equipped with state‑of‑the‑art machinery. Apprenticeships cover both engineering and business areas, and are designed to develop practical skills for real industrial and office environments. Seta also offers a wide range of standard and bespoke commercial training courses, including electrical, engineering, machining, mechanical, welding, health and safety and related areas, which can be delivered on site at Seta or at employers’ premises to suit business requirements. The Washington centre is described as the largest engineering training centre in the North East, with good transport links via the A1 and A19, enabling easy access from Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham and Middlesbrough.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
