Ignite Sport UK is a registered training provider specialising in sport and education qualifications, with a particular focus on sports-based apprenticeships. Established in 1999 and based at The Community Arena, Oxford City FC in Oxford, they operate nationally and provide training and services to individuals, schools and sports organisations. Ignite Sport UK delivers apprenticeships from Level 2 to Level 5 across roles such as Community Activator Coach, Teaching Assistant, Sporting Excellence Professional, Sports Coach and Learning & Skills Tutor, using a blended learning model that combines on-the-job training, face-to-face delivery and online e-portfolios. They are listed on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP), hold a direct levy contract with the ESFA, and train apprentices in schools across the UK to support sport provision. In addition, Ignite Sport UK offers further education and adult education programmes, and is a registered centre for 1st4Sport and Pearson, as well as an education centre for The Football Association. Their wider offer includes weekly sports clubs, holiday camps, school PE and extra-curricular provision, and football education programmes for 16–18-year-olds, serving customers ranging from early years settings and schools to professional clubs, councils, charities, gyms, the NHS and apprenticeship training agencies.
