About
Westminster City Council
Westminster City Council provides a range of employment and skills initiatives that support residents into work and help employers develop a skilled local workforce. Through the Westminster Employment Service (WES), the council offers a free recruitment and training brokerage for employers, sourcing Westminster-based candidates and designing sector-specific courses aligned to business needs. WES Jobs and Training works with employers to co-develop upskilling and training programmes, including industry sessions and tailored courses that ensure candidates are job-ready for roles across key sectors. The council actively promotes apprenticeships and other work-based learning opportunities as part of its wider skills and inclusion strategy, working with partners and employers to create pathways into sustained employment, including apprenticeships, graduate roles and entry-level opportunities. Wider skills projects, such as Westminster Wheels, provide certified technical training combined with paid work experience, supporting residents to gain practical skills and improve employability. These activities sit within the council’s broader Education, Employment and Skills agenda, which aims to close local skills gaps, support under-represented groups and help employers recruit and retain local talent through targeted training and employment support.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
