About
University of Sussex
The University of Sussex offers a growing portfolio of degree apprenticeships designed for both employers and employees who want to develop higher-level skills while remaining in work. Through its apprenticeship offer, Sussex provides Level 6 undergraduate and Level 7 Masters degree apprenticeships, including programmes such as Advanced Manufacturing Engineering MSc, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence MSc, and Data Analytics and Digital Solutions for Business BSc, with additional apprenticeships (for example in project management and electrical engineering) in development. Apprentices spend around one day per week at the University and the rest with their employer, combining academic study with practical workplace experience. Programmes are research‑led and developed in collaboration with industry partners to address specific skills gaps, particularly across the South East region. Apprentices benefit from access to experienced academic staff, industry‑standard facilities and curricula co‑designed with employers, while businesses can use Apprenticeship Levy funding to upskill new and existing staff without employees paying tuition fees. Sussex also operates an internal staff apprenticeship scheme, using levy funding to support its own workforce development across areas such as business administration, leadership and management, digital marketing and technical roles. Overall, the University positions its degree apprenticeships as a way to earn a recognised degree, enhance career prospects and bring innovative skills back into the workplace.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
