About
University of Portsmouth
The University of Portsmouth offers a wide range of degree apprenticeships that combine paid employment with part‑time university study, enabling apprentices to gain a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree while working and without paying tuition fees. Degree apprentices typically spend one day a week at university (or equivalent online study) and the rest of the week in their job, with at least six hours per week dedicated to off‑the‑job learning. Programmes are developed in partnership with employers and the UK Government to ensure apprentices gain skills that are in high demand, and cover areas such as business leadership and management, civil engineering, quantity and building surveying, architectural practice and other professional disciplines. Entry requirements are generally based on UCAS tariff points (for example, 112–120 points from A levels or equivalent plus English and maths), with flexibility to consider other qualifications and experience on some courses. Employers can use the apprenticeship levy to cover training costs, and the University provides support with recruitment, job descriptions and ongoing academic and pastoral support for apprentices. Alongside apprenticeships, Portsmouth offers other workforce development routes including work‑based Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, CPD and short courses, and bespoke training designed with organisations to address specific skills gaps and upskill existing staff. Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
