About
University of Brighton
The University of Brighton delivers a wide portfolio of higher and degree apprenticeships designed in partnership with employers to meet skills needs across the public and private sectors. The university has been developing and delivering higher and degree apprenticeships since 2016, offering programmes at levels 5, 6 and 7, which are equivalent to foundation, bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Apprentices are employed and combine work with part‑time university study, typically attending university one day per week during term time while spending at least 20% of paid working hours in off‑the‑job learning, a statutory requirement for apprenticeship funding. Programmes span business and management, education, construction, engineering and the built environment, and health and science, and include routes such as civil engineering, building surveying, town planning, social work, nursing associate, physiotherapy and teacher degree apprenticeships. Many programmes are professionally accredited, and a number are also delivered through the Sussex and Surrey Institute of Technology. The university emphasises strong partnerships with employers, work‑based projects aligned to organisational needs, and clear progression routes for employees seeking to upskill while remaining in paid employment. Apprenticeship provision has been rated ‘Good’ for overall effectiveness by Ofsted, with particular strengths noted in apprentices’ behaviours, attitudes and workplace impact.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
