About
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) is both a major healthcare employer and an approved apprenticeship training provider, delivering programmes through its UHL Apprenticeship and Development Centre. The Centre supports staff development across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, offering apprenticeship education for both clinical and non‑clinical roles alongside health screening qualifications, employability initiatives and career progression support. Apprenticeship programmes range from Level 2 to higher and degree levels, aligned to nationally recognised standards, and are designed to meet employer needs by combining workplace learning with structured teaching. UHL delivers a portfolio that includes Customer Service Level 2, Business Administration Level 3, Healthcare Support Worker Level 2 and Senior Healthcare Support Worker Level 3, with progression routes into roles such as Nursing Associate and Registered Nurse. As an employer-provider, UHL offers apprenticeships to its own workforce and to other health and social care organisations, using Apprenticeship Levy funding where applicable. Learners receive mentoring, wellbeing and study support, and programmes are subject to external inspection and Matrix accreditation for information, advice and guidance, underpinned by a comprehensive suite of quality and safeguarding policies.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
