About
The University of Sheffield
The University of Sheffield is a research-intensive Russell Group university that also acts as an approved apprenticeship training provider, offering programmes from Level 3 to Level 7. Its apprenticeships are developed in partnership with employers to ensure apprentices gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for specific job roles and for industry workforce development. Apprentices are employed full-time (at least 30 hours per week) and complete a minimum of 20% off-the-job training during normal working hours, focused on achieving the approved apprenticeship standards. The University currently delivers apprenticeships in advanced manufacturing, nursing, management and leadership, psychology and social work, with provision including Advanced (Level 3) through to degree and master’s-level apprenticeships that may incorporate fully accredited degree or postgraduate diploma qualifications. Through its AMRC Training Centre and other faculties, Sheffield works with large employers such as Boeing, McLaren and Siemens, as well as over 200 SMEs, and supports both levy-paying and non-levy-paying organisations to access government apprenticeship funding. Alongside apprenticeships, the University provides a broad portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes, as well as tailored support for business partnerships and workforce development.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
