About
The University of Manchester
The University of Manchester delivers a range of apprenticeship opportunities that combine paid employment with structured learning to develop technical and professional skills. Its technical apprenticeship programmes, aimed at UK students aged 16 and over, offer hands-on training in disciplines such as laboratory, mechanical and electrical support, leading to industry-recognised qualifications and progression into specialist technician roles. Apprentices are employed by the University and receive staff benefits including generous annual leave, a defined benefit pension scheme and access to wider staff support services. The University also runs degree and higher apprenticeship provision, enabling employees to work towards undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications while remaining in employment, with at least 20% of time dedicated to off-the-job training. Apprenticeships are designed in partnership with employers to increase productivity and skills, with teaching delivered by academic specialists in a research-led environment. In addition, the University engages with local communities and employers through skills development and back-to-work programmes, using apprenticeships as a route into long-term careers across IT, finance, estates, facilities and other professional areas.(apprenticeships.manchester.ac.uk)
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
