About
University of Birmingham
The University of Birmingham delivers apprenticeships in two main ways: as an employer and as a higher education training provider. As an employer, the University offers apprenticeship vacancies across a wide range of job families, including business administration, finance, laboratory technician roles, engineering, IT and marketing, enabling apprentices to earn a salary while gaining industry-recognised standards and qualifications in a large, diverse organisation of around 8,000 staff. Apprentices benefit from a structured induction, development days, networking opportunities, an optional development week in the Lake District, and access to campus facilities such as the state-of-the-art library and wider staff benefits. As a training provider, the University offers Higher and Degree Apprenticeships at undergraduate (Level 6) and postgraduate (Level 7) levels, combining university study with paid employment so that apprentices develop occupation-specific knowledge, skills and behaviours while tuition fees are paid by the employer, typically via the Apprenticeship Levy. Employers can work with the University’s Apprenticeships and Partnerships team to contract apprenticeship programmes and, where appropriate, create bespoke solutions aligned to business needs. In addition, the University offers a range of short courses designed for individuals and employers seeking flexible options for reskilling and upskilling, including online and intensive block learning formats.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
