About
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council provides a structured apprenticeship offer as part of its wider jobs and training provision. Apprenticeships are paid roles that combine valuable work experience with study towards nationally recognised qualifications, with apprentices spending at least 20% of paid working time in classroom-based learning delivered by a college, university or training provider. The Council highlights a strong track record of successful apprenticeships, with many apprentices progressing into permanent roles within the organisation. Apprentices receive at least the National Minimum Wage for their age (depending on the apprenticeship), a dedicated apprenticeship contract allowing sufficient time to complete their qualification, and paid time to attend training. The package includes 27 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro‑rata for part‑time roles), access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, and health and wellbeing support such as physiotherapy, counselling services and discounted gym membership. Apprentices are supported continuously by their manager and training provider in a workplace environment that encourages them to reach their full potential. In addition to apprenticeships, the Council’s Stockton Learning and Skills Service offers a range of courses for work, life and leisure, and the Employment and Training Hub provides help with employment and training-related needs.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
