About
Birth to 19 School Centred Initial Teacher Training
Birth to 19 School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) is a Bradford-based provider of school-led teacher education, established in 2013. Working in partnership with primary and secondary schools and settings across Bradford and more widely across the country, the SCITT offers practice-based, research-informed postgraduate training routes leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Trainees follow an entirely school-based and school-designed programme, with placements hosted by a wide network of partner schools. The organisation focuses on developing highly employable, research-informed, early-career-ready teachers who can positively impact pupils’ life chances in their local communities. Training is underpinned by clear values, including modelling excellence, inspiring learners, and embracing research and lifelong professional development. Through personalised support, expert mentoring and high-quality training, Birth to 19 SCITT aims to equip trainees with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in the classroom, apply evidence-informed strategies to improve outcomes, and contribute positively to inclusive school communities. In addition to its core teacher training routes, Birth to 19 promotes access to Level 2, 3 and 6 apprenticeships delivered through the wider Birth to 19 organisation, supporting pathways into education roles alongside teacher training.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
