South Farnham Educational Trust

South Farnham Educational Trust (SFET) is a multi-academy trust that brings together eleven schools, a Teaching School Hub and an established school-centred initial teacher training (SCITT) provider. Through its Training and Development offer, the Trust focuses on high-quality professional learning for staff at all stages, aiming to improve teaching and leadership across its schools and wider partnerships. SFET provides structured programmes such as the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for Working in the Early Years Sector (Early Years Educator), which aligns with the Early Years Educator occupational standard and prepares learners to work with children from birth to five, with knowledge up to age seven. This one‑year qualification combines guided learning, work placement and portfolio-based assessment, and is designed for those already gaining experience in early years settings. In addition, SFET delivers a Teaching Assistant Development Programme, a ‘Learning to Lead’ leadership development course and other CPD opportunities promoted through its Teaching School Hub, which works with curriculum hubs, research schools, universities and school-based training providers to give teachers and support staff access to regional and national professional development and research-informed practice.

Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
