About
Skills Construction Centre
Skills Construction Centre is a community-based VCSE training provider focused on helping people build practical skills, confidence and access to sustained employment, particularly within the construction sector. The organisation’s flagship On Site Construction Skills Academies offer role-aligned training pathways where learners develop Essential Work and Employability Skills in English, maths and digital, embedded within hands-on, construction-focused learning. Training is delivered across dedicated learning centres in Kirkham and Manchester, as well as through satellite academies located on live construction sites, ensuring learning takes place in real working environments. Alongside its academy programmes, Skills Construction Centre provides targeted, flexible support for young people with Education, Health and Care Plans or SEMH needs, those involved in the youth justice system, and individuals who are unemployed, NEET or facing multiple barriers to progression. The provider delivers upskilling and essential work skills for employed, self-employed and volunteer learners, as well as apprenticeships and On-Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) leading to industry-recognised qualifications. Courses are developed in collaboration with construction employers to ensure they are practical, relevant and progression-focused, with a holistic, person-centred approach that creates clear pathways into employment, further study and advanced qualifications.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
