Sheldrake Training is a UK-wide apprenticeship training provider and subsidiary of the charity RACPD, delivering work-based vocational qualifications with an Ofsted “Good” (Grade 2) rating. The organisation specialises in apprenticeships that are delivered primarily in the workplace so apprentices can apply learning immediately in real-world settings. Their apprenticeship offer includes equine pathways (Equine Groom, Senior Equine Groom and Racing Groom), as well as programmes in installation and maintenance electrician, transport and warehouse operations supervisor, animal care and welfare assistant and team leadership. Sheldrake Training emphasises bespoke matching of employers and apprentices, flexible delivery to accommodate different learning styles, and regular review of employer and learner priorities. They work closely with equine employers across disciplines such as racing, eventing, showjumping, dressage, breeding and livery, supported by a team of specialist coaches with substantial sector experience. Alongside apprenticeships, Sheldrake also provides educational courses and training to public and private sector clients and operates as an approved End Point Assessment Organisation for several apprenticeship standards, including Equine Groom.
