Semester Learning & Development Ltd is an online training provider specialising in apprenticeships and vocational education in engineering, protective services and fire safety. Established in 2014 to deliver flexible learning for apprenticeship schemes, the organisation has expanded from telecoms and IT into engineering, Higher National Certificate (HNC) programmes and fire safety qualifications. All training is delivered fully online by tutors and assessors who work remotely and bring industry experience, with some still active in their occupational fields. Semester offers a broad portfolio of apprenticeships, including Engineering Technician, Engineering Fitter, Engineering Manufacturing Technician (Higher), Welder, Fire Emergency and Security Systems Technician, Compressed Air and Vacuum Technician, Drinks Dispense Technician and Construction Equipment Maintenance Mechanic. Alongside apprenticeships, it delivers NVQ qualifications in engineering, IT, fabrication and welding, and fire safety, as well as academic courses such as BTEC Level 2–3 in Engineering, HNC Engineering, digital programmes, functional skills in English and maths, and one‑to‑one tuition.
