About
Salutem
Salutem is a UK construction training and apprenticeship provider specialising in groundworks and bricklaying. Based in Aston, Birmingham, it operates the Salutem Apprenticeship Centre, a purpose-built facility for groundworks and bricklaying apprenticeships designed and run by employers for employers. In response to the national shortfall of young trainees in these trades, Salutem established an Apprentice Academy in partnership with McDermotts Building & Civil Engineering, with entry typically following completion of a three‑week Site Ready Course that mirrors site hours and includes CSCS testing and an accredited Health and Safety at Work course. Salutem’s apprenticeship model offers six‑monthly intakes, flexible day or block release to meet the 20% off‑the‑job training requirement, and on‑site experience with employers’ live projects. The organisation also offers bespoke “pop‑up” apprentice training centres for cohorts of 10–16 apprentices on live building sites, as well as consultancy services in SHEQ and management development. Salutem works with a range of contractors, including Kier, McDermotts and KW Bell, to develop apprentices’ skills to employer standards and support workforce growth across the construction industry.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
