Scottish Bakers

Scottish Bakers is a sector-specific membership organisation for Scotland’s bakery trade that also delivers work-based training and apprenticeships for the wider UK food and drink sector through its training arm, National Food & Drink Training (NFDT). The organisation works with SQA in Scotland and FDQ in England to offer quality-assured vocational qualifications as part of its apprenticeship programmes, backed by more than 20–30 years of experience in work-based learning. Apprenticeship and workplace training is designed around employer needs, with delivery scheduled around production requirements, including day, night, back and split shifts, and all training and assessment takes place in the workplace. Programmes are tailored to each employment setting and learner, with an agreed training plan developed between the employer, apprentice and NFDT. Scottish Bakers and NFDT support employers across Scotland and England to develop the skills and knowledge of their workforce, aiming to improve productivity, efficiency and competitiveness in the food and drink industry. Training is supported by specially developed learning materials and an online food and drink training academy, alongside a wider portfolio of online courses and NFDT Academy programmes in areas such as leadership, business growth, manufacturing excellence, technical/QA and technology and innovation.(scottishbakers.org)
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
