2Schools Consortium

About
2Schools Consortium
Oakthorpe Primary School, through its 2Schools Consortium, is an accredited provider of school-centred initial teacher training and postgraduate teaching apprenticeships based in Enfield, North London. The consortium offers a Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship (Level 6, Primary) that leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in line with the Teacher Apprenticeship Standards framework. Apprentices must be employed in a school that can offer an apprenticeship programme and contract of employment; the school and provider jointly assess suitability through recruitment and selection tasks. Teaching apprentices typically take responsibility for a whole class for up to three days per week, are based mainly in their employing school, and undertake a five‑week second school placement in the spring term. Weekly, they receive a full day of face‑to‑face training, supported by mentor‑led and independent pre‑ and post‑session tasks. In addition to the salaried apprenticeship route, 2Schools Consortium provides unsalaried, school‑based initial teacher training and an Assessment Only route for graduates already employed in schools. Training is delivered across a partnership of local schools, with Oakthorpe Primary School acting as the lead school and main training site, drawing on over 20 years of experience in mentoring and developing new teachers.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
