There are four types of training provider:
A National Provider is a training provider that is able to offer apprenticeship training in any location across England. Some national providers might also offer training in the devolved nations, i.e. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
An FE college is a state-funded provider that can offer a broad range of training options in a particular location to a range of employers.
A Specialist Provider is a training provider that is not state-funded and tends to offer training in specialist sectors or locations.
Universities offer training for Degree Apprenticeships or Higher Apprenticeships, sometimes running specialist courses for apprentices on a particular standard.
Newcastle City Learning has provided adult learning within the city for many years. Our mission is to help people learn and achieve in a friendly and supportive environment. Within Newcastle City Council, Newcastle City Learning sits within the Education and Skills Division within the People Directorate. At the heart of the service is an ethos of supporting the people furthest away from the labour market in the city to develop their skills. Most provision is delivered and managed directly.
Newcastle City Learning offer professional training in a range of apprenticeship areas.
Our current offer includes office based, management, childcare, teaching and learning apprenticeships.
Delivering across the North East region we provide training and development for both new and existing staff at intermediate, advanced and higher levels.
