NELTA, part of Beacon Multi-Academy Trust, is an Ofsted-recognised Initial Teacher Training provider offering school‑centred teacher development, including apprenticeship routes. It delivers a Postgraduate Teacher apprenticeship (Level 6) for prospective secondary teachers across a range of subjects such as English, maths, science and arts, including options to train in alternative provision, with training delivered in BMAT schools in Redbridge and partner schools in Barking and Dagenham, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. Alongside apprenticeships, NELTA provides salaried and tuition‑fee routes to Qualified Teacher Status, with an option to gain a PGCE accredited by the University of Sussex. As a school‑led provider, it works in partnership with local schools, universities (including UCL and King’s College London) and private sector organisations to deliver evidence‑informed training that reflects the realities of modern classrooms. NELTA also offers an assessment‑only route for experienced unqualified teachers and runs wider professional development, including a two‑year ECT programme and collaborative subject‑specific staff development, helping schools build a sustainable pipeline of high‑quality teachers and future leaders.
