Manchester Digital is the industry body for Greater Manchester’s digital and tech sector and operates an award‑winning digital apprenticeship academy delivering Level 4 digital apprenticeship pathways. Their apprenticeship provision is designed around the skills and roles that employers across Greater Manchester need now and in the future, with a particular focus on software developer pathways aligned to nationally recognised apprenticeship standards. Programmes are described as industry‑led and are developed in collaboration with local tech employers to ensure that technical training and professional skills stay closely matched to real workplace requirements. Apprenticeships are delivered over an extended period, combining structured off‑the‑job learning with practical, on‑the‑job experience in employers’ teams, and training is designed and delivered by experts working in industry. Manchester Digital positions its apprenticeships both for employers wishing to hire new digital talent and for organisations looking to upskill or retrain existing employees into technical roles as a means of retaining skills and company knowledge. Alongside apprenticeships, Manchester Digital also runs broader skills and talent programmes – including a Digital Skills Festival and other training initiatives – aimed at helping businesses connect with, develop and retain digital talent within the region.
