About
Leicestershire County Council
Leicestershire County Council provides apprenticeship opportunities across County Hall and with partner employers throughout Leicestershire, aiming to equip apprentices with guidance, skills and experience to start a successful career. Apprenticeships are offered at Level 2, 3 and above, enabling participants to work in a full‑time role while studying towards an industry-standard qualification and earning a salary that matches the full pay for the role, which is higher than the apprenticeship minimum wage. Apprentices are employed on the same terms as other council staff and can access workers’ groups, such as LGBT+, Black workers and Disabled workers groups, as well as recreational teams. The council emphasises personal qualities including self‑motivation, good communication, flexibility, teamwork and time management, alongside a commitment to its organisational values. Support for apprentices includes regular line management supervision, an employee counselling service and access to staff health and wellbeing resources. Apprentices also benefit from the “More for Leics” employee benefits scheme, which offers a digital discount card and access to local and national offers, and they can apply for an apprentice NUS card for additional discounts. The council highlights progression opportunities within and beyond the organisation and promotes work-based learning and wider skills development through associated careers and skills initiatives.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
