Hertfordshire County Council

Hertfordshire County Council is the upper-tier local authority for Hertfordshire and promotes apprenticeships and training as part of its wider employment and skills support offer. Through its services for young people and adults, the council signposts and supports residents into apprenticeships, traineeships, further education and other training, helping them develop skills and move into work or progress in their careers. Young people leaving school can access information and guidance on jobs and apprenticeships, including tailored support if they are 16–19 or up to 24 with a learning disability, via the council’s Services for Young People hubs and online resources. The council also works with care leavers and adults with additional needs, coordinating training and employment support, CV development, job-search help and access to apprenticeships through initiatives such as Connected2Work and partnerships with external organisations. Alongside this, Hertfordshire County Council commissions and promotes a range of learning and development opportunities, including adult and family learning through Step2Skills and specialist workforce development such as the SEND Academy, which provides multi‑agency training for professionals supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. This integrated approach is designed to improve residents’ skills, support inclusive employment and help local employers access a developing talent pipeline.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
