About
HWGTA (Herefordshire & Worcestershire Group Training Association)
Herefordshire & Worcestershire Group Training Association (HWGTA) is an employer‑led, not‑for‑profit training provider delivering apprenticeships and workforce development across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. They work with local employers to design and deliver apprenticeship programmes in accountancy, business administration, customer service, engineering, and leadership and management. Apprentices typically spend most of their week in the workplace, supported by structured off‑the‑job training delivered through HWGTA’s training centres and learning and development specialists, with regular workplace visits every 4–6 weeks to monitor progress. HWGTA supports employers with free apprentice recruitment, guidance on funding including the Apprenticeship Levy, and programme design tailored around business needs, with achievement rates reported as around 20% above national averages. In addition to apprenticeships, HWGTA offers a range of business training courses for employers and individuals, including leadership and management, health and safety, first aid and IT, working with nationally recognised awarding bodies and providing options for bespoke programmes. They also deliver funded short courses such as suicide prevention training for people working or living in the local area.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
