About
Hartlepool College of Further Education
Hartlepool College of Further Education is a specialist apprenticeship and vocational training provider based in Hartlepool, offering programmes for school leavers, adults and employers. The College delivers a large apprenticeship provision, with over 900 apprentices in learning and partnerships with more than 400 employers, and is described as the only North East college graded outstanding by Ofsted for its apprenticeship provision. Apprenticeships are offered from Level 2 upwards, including higher and degree options, allowing learners to earn while they learn and, in many cases, progress on to university after completing a Level 3 apprenticeship. Training models are flexible, with attendance ranging from one day per week to block release or an initial full year at college, depending on the standard. The College emphasises working closely with employers to ensure apprenticeship programmes match specific job roles and reflect current industry demands. In addition to apprenticeships, Hartlepool College offers full‑time 16–18 courses, adult (19+) provision, higher education, and employer-focused training, all delivered by specialist tutors with industry experience, supported by guidance on careers, progression and financial support.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
