About
Halifax Opportunities Trust
Halifax Opportunities Trust (HOT) is a Halifax-based charity and training provider that delivers nationally recognised, work‑based apprenticeships in the specialist fields of education, childcare, early years, playwork and business. It has been providing apprenticeship training for over ten years and focuses on helping people earn while they learn, combining on‑the‑job experience with structured teaching to achieve apprenticeship standards and associated qualifications. HOT Apprenticeships currently offers programmes from Level 2 and Level 3 up to Level 5, including teaching assistant, early years and playwork pathways, residential childcare practitioner and manager routes, and business and team leader/supervisor apprenticeships. The Trust works with around 20 local employers across Calderdale and West Yorkshire, supporting both recruitment of new apprentices and upskilling of existing staff through tailored work‑based learning. Employers are supported with guidance on apprenticeship frameworks, online themed workshops, access to online learner portfolios and ongoing liaison to align training with workplace needs. Halifax Opportunities Trust is directly registered with Ofsted as a Good provider and maintains the Matrix Standard, and its apprenticeship provision forms part of a wider skills and community offer that includes ESOL, employment support, wellbeing and family services for local residents.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
