Teach East

About
Teach East
Teach East is a school-centred initial teacher training (SCITT) provider based in Peterborough, offering school‑based routes into teaching, including a Post‑Graduate Teacher Apprenticeship with QTS. Run by senior leaders who continue to teach and lead in Peterborough schools, Teach East works with a wide and diverse partnership of local schools to deliver practical, classroom‑focused training in high‑quality settings. Trainees spend a significant proportion of their time in schools, learning on the job alongside experienced mentors and gaining a clear understanding of day‑to‑day teaching practice. Through its SCITT programmes, Teach East enables trainees to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), accredited by The Cambridge Partnership, with the option to study towards a PGCE. For those already employed in schools who want to gain QTS while maintaining their existing working relationships, Teach East acts as a registered provider of Level 6 teacher apprenticeships, supporting schools to structure training around employment. The organisation positions Peterborough as a dynamic place to live, train and teach, and focuses on preparing motivated graduates, career changers and existing school staff to become effective classroom practitioners.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
