About
Derbyshire County Council
Derbyshire County Council offers a substantial apprenticeship and workforce development programme across its services and maintained schools. Apprenticeships are used both to recruit new talent and to upskill existing employees, providing nationally recognised, work-based training at levels 2, 3, 4 and above in partnership with approved training providers. Within Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service (DACES), the council delivers apprenticeships in areas such as adult care, early years, teaching assistant, business administration, customer service, school business professional and team leading/supervision, with most learning taking place on the job and supplemented by structured off‑the‑job training. The council also operates targeted apprenticeship opportunities in health and social care, enabling apprentices to earn while working full time in residential, day and extra care settings and gain qualifications such as the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. For internal staff, apprenticeships support leadership development through cohort-based leadership apprenticeships run with partners including the University of Derby and DACES. Employers in Derbyshire schools and council services are supported via a central apprenticeship application and procurement process, ensuring programmes are sourced and managed through Derbyshire County Council and that apprentices receive coordinated support from line managers, the apprenticeship team and training providers.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
