About
De Montfort University
De Montfort University (DMU) offers a wide range of Higher and Degree Apprenticeships that combine university study with full-time employment. Apprentices are typically employed for 12 months to four years, spending around 80% of their time in the workplace and 20% in off‑the‑job training delivered by DMU. Programmes are mapped to employer-designed apprenticeship standards to ensure apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required in their roles, with options spanning areas such as leadership and management, policing, healthcare, nursing and data science. DMU supports employers with guidance on programme selection, funding rules and contractual requirements, and works closely with them to align learning and assessment with job roles and individual learner needs. Ofsted has rated DMU “Good” for apprenticeships, and the university highlights a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for apprentices. Alongside apprenticeships, DMU provides a portfolio of short continuing professional development (CPD) and cyber and technology-focused courses, including topics such as cyber engineering, malware analysis, host and network security and the Internet of Things, many delivered in intensive block modes to minimise time away from work and designed with input from an industrial advisory group to ensure relevance to organisational needs.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
