About
Learning & Skills Darlington
Darlington Borough Council’s Learning & Skills service delivers apprenticeship training and wider adult learning across Darlington and the Tees Valley. Learning & Skills Darlington provides quality apprenticeship programmes for people aged 16 and over, combining practical on‑the‑job training with study so apprentices gain job‑specific skills, nationally recognised qualifications and work experience while earning a wage. Apprenticeships typically last between one and five years and are offered from Level 2 to Level 5, supporting over 30 employers across a variety of industries and job roles. The service offers dedicated information for both prospective apprentices and employers, including guidance on becoming an apprentice, employer responsibilities, vacancies and progression routes. In addition to apprenticeships, Learning & Skills delivers a broad range of learning opportunities for residents and employees, from functional skills and GCSEs in maths, English and ICT to accredited Level 2 and higher courses in areas such as care, customer service, team leading and warehousing. Many courses are free, with options for online and distance learning, and learners can access impartial careers information, advice and guidance, including support with course choice, progression, and employability skills.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
