About
Colchester Institute
Colchester Institute is a further and higher education college providing education, professional development and technical skills training to over 10,000 young people and adults each year. From campuses in Colchester, Braintree and Tendring, it offers full- and part-time further education programmes, degrees and apprenticeships, alongside short courses for industry. Apprenticeships are available both through the main college and University Centre Colchester, where degree-level apprenticeships focus on preparing learners for work or progression at work. The college emphasises vocational learning, combining practical activities using industry-standard resources, work placements and theory to develop strong occupational skills. Colchester Institute also delivers commercial and industry training, skills bootcamps, professional development and specialist green skills provision through its Net Zero and Renewables Centre, as well as extensive construction, engineering, digital media, health and social care, creative and hospitality facilities. Its curriculum is mapped to local and national skills priorities, including emerging technologies and green skills, with a stated aim of meeting the skills needs of individuals, employers, the economy and the environment. The college was judged ‘Good’ in all areas at its most recent Ofsted inspection, with the highest grade awarded for how it meets skills needs.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
