Channel Training
Channel Training is a specialist apprenticeship training provider for the outdoor sector, working directly with employers and apprentices to support high-quality outdoor learning. Operating nationally and focused on active and outdoor learning, they have been involved in developing outdoor learning apprenticeships since 2012, helping employers get the best from their teams. Channel Training delivers three apprenticeship standards: Level 2 Community Activator Coach, Level 3 Outdoor Activity Instructor and Level 5 Outdoor Learning Specialist. Alongside apprenticeships, they provide a range of skills development courses integrated into their programmes, including National Governing Body training and qualifications, First Aid and Water Safety training, Education, Training and Assessment qualifications, and courses in Learning Beyond the Classroom. Employers receive end-to-end support covering advice and guidance on recruiting and employing apprentices, dedicated office support and tutors, role-relevant training design, and regular communication on apprentice progress and achievement. Channel Training emphasises partnership working with outdoor centres, schools, adventurous activity and recreation providers, outdoor learning charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations, enabling cost-effective training and workforce development. They are an Ofsted Good Provider, with a stated 100% pass rate for apprentices who reach end-point assessment and over 60% of apprentices achieving a distinction.
