Captiva Learning delivers apprenticeships through its trading names: The National College of Education, The National Centre for Leadership and Management & Premier Pathways. Captiva Learning (trading as The National College of Education in the schools sector) is an apprenticeship training provider that has served in excess of 5,600 learners since 2018, with nearly 2000 currently on programme. The National College of Education focuses on the education sector and has created an innovative curriculum delivered by lecturers and tutors with deep education sector experience.

As the country’s largest training provider of the Senior Leadership Programme to the education sector, with over 3,400 being enrolled on that programme to date, Captiva Learning leads the field in helping school leaders develop the leadership knowledge and expertise to improve outcomes in their school.

The National Centre for Leadership and Management delivers apprenticeship programmes to the wider public sector (with a focus on local authorities and the NHS) and businesses. Delivery is contextualised to each organisation, unlocking the capabilities of teams and driving real behaviour change.

Premier Pathways is creating large numbers of youth workers in a range of settings through the provision of degree apprenticeships for committed talent already working with young people. Organisations can transform their workforce, reduce recruitment fees, relieve pressure on workload and create a pipeline of familar talent. The basis of our programme design and delivery is to work with our stakeholders to ensure that learning is set within their context, drawing on real-world examples from those we work with. This ensures our apprentices are learning practical behaviours to suit the unique challenges and experiences faced within their workplace. Our approach is designed to ensure that each employer’s vision, values and behaviours are effectively embedded into our delivery, and in this way, we provide an adaptable service to meet individual needs.

We put the learner at the centre of the journey by tailoring the learning to meet the requirements of their role, and we work closely with relevant stakeholders from each employer to understand the context for apprentices joining our programmes and ensure the delivery responds to this.

I have been working with Captiva for over four years, the last 2 years have been within the City of London corporation and prior to that at Waltham Forest, during this time we have enrolled just over 100 learners, completing the level 3 Team Leader, Level 5 Operation Manger and Level 7 Senior Leader. I always receive positive feed back from the learners and they are very happy with the level of support and direction they receive during the training; a number of learners have recommended the apprenticeship to collages which is very in encouraging and a testament the support they receive during the training. The achievement rate is exceptionally high which is fantastic, and these achievers are merits and distinctions and when a learning is looking at leaving the programme the team at Captiva are very supportive to identify the reason why and work with the learner and myself to find an appropriate solution so the learner does not miss out on the opportunity to achieve the When we have had any issues which have mainly been due to corporate system Captiva have been very supportive and accommodating to make sure learners do not miss out. I would highly recommend Captiva and will continue to work with them on the available leadership and management apprenticeships
