About
Bridgwater & Taunton College
Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC) is part of the University Centre Somerset College Group (UCS College Group) and delivers a broad range of technical and professional education and training across its Bridgwater, Cannington and Taunton colleges, alongside Strode College and University Centre Somerset. The college is a major regional apprenticeship provider, offering over 120 apprenticeship programmes and working with around 1,500 employers. Apprenticeships span subject areas such as nuclear, construction and civil engineering, engineering, digital and computing, business and management, health and social care, agriculture and horticulture, automotive, hospitality, food and drink manufacturing and more, from entry to higher levels. Apprentices typically attend college on day- or block-release or are trained entirely in the workplace, supported by assessors, with provision recently rated Outstanding by Ofsted. BTC also offers adult learning, higher education, distance learning and programmes for school leavers, plus traineeships and employability support including CV and interview guidance. Significant recent investment has created specialist facilities such as an Energy Skills Centre, Advanced Engineering Centre, Agriculture and Innovation Centre and a McMillan Theatre, enabling delivery of industry-relevant, work-focused training across multiple sectors.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
