About
Birmingham Electrical Training
Birmingham Electrical Training (BET) is a specialist electrical training provider based in Hockley, near Birmingham city centre, delivering apprenticeship and commercial training for the electrotechnical industry. Founded in 1991 by local electrical contractors, BET was established to help young people in the West Midlands access the electrical industry while providing employers with a dedicated, high-quality apprenticeship training partner. The organisation currently supports over 300 apprentices and works with around 120 local electrical contractors, combining employer-based ‘on the job’ training with structured ‘off the job’ learning at its dedicated training centre in Birmingham. Apprentices gain evidence towards their NVQ logbooks through workplace experience, complemented by classroom-based teaching and ongoing support from tutors and training officers. BET reports an overall apprenticeship achievement rate of 78% for the 2019–20 academic year, above the national average for that period. In addition to apprenticeships, Birmingham Electrical Training offers commercial electrical courses, including training in the installation and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment, as well as upskilling courses for qualified electricians to help them stay current with industry standards and qualifications.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
