About
Birmingham City University
Birmingham City University offers apprenticeship training alongside its wider portfolio of higher education, short courses and professional development. The University delivers apprenticeships from Level 3 to Level 7 and has more than 1,400 apprentices across 19 apprenticeship standards, working with over 400 employers nationally and locally. Its apprenticeship provision spans civil engineering, construction and the built environment, health and life sciences, and creative and design disciplines, with programmes typically delivered through blended learning, day release or block release models to fit around employment. Ofsted has rated the University’s degree apprenticeship provision as ‘Good’, recognising its strong alignment with employer needs, effective safeguarding arrangements and the impact of high-quality training on apprentices’ knowledge, skills and behaviours. Employers can access support to fund apprenticeship training through government levy and co-investment schemes, and Birmingham City University also operates an Apprenticeship Levy Share Scheme to gift unused levy funds to eligible SMEs, charities and community organisations in the West Midlands, covering up to 100% of training and assessment costs. In addition to apprenticeships, the University provides short courses and continuing professional development opportunities for organisations through its Business Services offer, helping employers upskill staff and address skills gaps in key sectors.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
