Avant Skills Academy

Avant Skills Academy is a work-based learning provider delivering apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship training across Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, Hull and East Yorkshire. Formed in 2007 as Avant Partnership and rebranded in 2019 to reflect its focus, the organisation works with employers to recruit, train and retain staff through funded apprenticeship programmes. Avant offers apprenticeships in a range of occupational sectors, including business administration, data, digital, hairdressing, management, marketing, content creation, construction, team leadership and operations/departmental management, as well as pre-apprenticeship provision designed to make learners work-ready and support progression into apprenticeships or employment. Their stated vision is to provide a dynamic approach to high-quality, learner- and employer-centred learning and development, ensuring apprentices gain the knowledge and skills to become competent, valued employees, while pre-apprenticeship learners develop real work experience and employability skills. Training is delivered from dedicated centres in Grimsby and Hull, with specialist tutor-assessors and engagement staff supporting both employers and learners throughout the programme lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to achievement and progression.
