About
Arts University Bournemouth
Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) is a specialist creative university that delivers apprenticeship training alongside its established art, design, media and performance provision. The university offers a BA (Hons) Modelmaking for Industry degree apprenticeship aligned to the ST1371 Model Maker standard, combining 80% on‑the‑job learning with 20% off‑the‑job university teaching. Apprentices are employed in modelmaking roles across sectors such as architecture, product design, museums and exhibitions, film, TV, gaming and digital media, while attending structured teaching delivered by AUB. Training is provided by subject-specialist tutors using industry-standard analogue and digital manufacturing equipment, specialist workshop machinery and contemporary materials, with learning delivered through a blend of online teaching and block residential sessions on AUB’s campus. Programmes are developed in collaboration with creative industry employers to ensure that content, skills and behaviours are relevant, current and tailored to workplace needs, supporting both employers and apprentices to meet the apprenticeship standard over a three‑year period. Employers benefit from government co‑funding or levy funding options, and can access guidance from AUB on structuring apprenticeship roles, funding and programme design.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
