About
Rase Veterinary Nursing College
Rase Veterinary Nursing College is a specialist training provider based in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, offering dedicated veterinary and animal care education. The college delivers a VTEC Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Companion Animal) and a Veterinary Nursing for Equines qualification, both structured over 30 months on a day-release basis for learners aged 16 and over who are employed in approved veterinary nurse training practices. Learners attend college one day per week and spend the remainder of their time in clinical practice, typically working a minimum of 30–40 hours per week, developing practical skills alongside their employer. The programmes are designed to prepare students to apply for professional registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons on successful completion. Entry requirements include UK residency or appropriate visa status, employment in a relevant veterinary practice, and at least five GCSEs at grades A–C/4–9 including Maths, English Language and Science. Theoretical learning is assessed through assignments, multiple-choice and short-answer questions set by external awarding body VetSkill, while practical competence is evidenced via an e-portfolio and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs). The college also advertises an Animal Care Level 2 Diploma as part of its course offer.
