About
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is a large teaching hospital group in London that offers an extensive apprenticeship programme alongside a broad range of clinical education and staff training. Apprenticeships are designed to allow people to earn a nationally recognised qualification while gaining structured on‑the‑job experience from skilled staff, with around six hours per week protected for off‑the‑job learning to meet apprenticeship standards. Programmes typically last from 12 months up to four years and are available in both clinical and non‑clinical areas, including business administration, engineering maintenance, facilities and hotel services in healthcare, healthcare science assistant, dental nurse, pharmacy assistant, senior healthcare support worker, nursing associate, occupational therapist, safety, health and environment technician, team leader, associate project manager, HR consultant/partner, coaching professional and senior leader. The Trust uses apprenticeships both to recruit new talent and to upskill existing employees, supported by apprenticeship and education teams, line‑manager mentoring and access to wider training and improvement programmes. As one of the UK’s major teaching trusts, it also provides extensive staff training, clinical education and professional development pathways in partnership with universities, and invests significantly in education, training and development for its workforce, including in‑house courses and a dedicated School of Improvement.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
