About
CITB
The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) is the sector skills body for construction in Great Britain, providing apprenticeship delivery, funding and wider training to help employers develop a skilled workforce. CITB has over 60 years’ experience supporting apprentices and developing skilled workers, and delivers construction apprenticeships directly through its National Construction College (NCC) sites in Bircham Newton (Norfolk), Erith (Kent) and in Scotland at Inchinnan, as well as working with colleges and training providers across England, Scotland and Wales. Its apprenticeship offer spans foundation, Level 2 and 3, higher and degree apprenticeships, with programmes covering trades such as scaffolding, general construction occupations, road building and maintenance, dry lining, ceiling fixing, floor laying, roofing, plant maintenance and other site-based roles. CITB’s New Entrant Support Team (NEST) helps employers recruit, retain and mentor apprentices, and can manage paperwork, liaison with providers and access to grants. CITB-registered employers can apply for a range of apprenticeship grants to support attendance and achievement, with specific grant arrangements in each nation. Beyond apprenticeships, NCC provides workforce development and upskilling courses, short courses, SVQ work-based assessment, testing and inspection, and other technical and health and safety training, supported by CITB’s wider grants and funding programmes for eligible employers.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
