Warwickshire Garage & Transport Group Training Association Limited (WGTA) is a specialist automotive apprenticeship and training provider based in Leamington Spa. Established in 1969, it delivers a comprehensive training management service to member companies, focusing on recruiting and developing young people through work‑based learning that leads to nationally recognised qualifications in automotive service and repair. All learners are employed by member companies, with off‑the‑job training delivered at WGTA’s training centre in Leamington Spa. The association provides specialist training advice and management to over 30 companies across Coventry and Warwickshire and is funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) to deliver high‑quality apprenticeships in the automotive service and repair industry. WGTA offers apprenticeship pathways and upskilling qualifications across light vehicles, heavy goods vehicles, public service vehicles, body repair, vehicle paint and MET (mechanical, electrical and trim). Training is delivered by fully qualified staff drawn from the automotive sector, providing role‑specific training, information, advice and guidance, and learner support. WGTA is Matrix accredited for information, advice and guidance and positions its programmes to meet local and national industry skills needs.
