South Gloucestershire and Stroud College

About
South Gloucestershire and Stroud College
South Gloucestershire and Stroud College (SGS College) delivers a broad apprenticeship offer alongside further and higher education, designed for both employers and individuals. SGS offers a wide range of apprenticeships covering most employment sectors, with programmes delivered at its Filton, Stroud and central Bristol locations, and workplace delivery available for some standards. Apprentices benefit from on‑the‑job training combined with structured off‑the‑job learning, supported by a dedicated training assessor who designs an individual learning plan, reviews progress every 12 weeks and helps them progress to higher levels. The college supports over 1,000 employers each year and recruits over 400 new apprentices annually, with strong retention and achievement rates reported as ahead of national averages. Employers are allocated a dedicated account manager, receive free apprenticeship recruitment and vacancy‑matching services, and are supported with funding, incentives and use of the Digital Apprenticeship Service. All apprenticeships are delivered directly by SGS rather than subcontractors, giving the college direct control over quality. In addition to apprenticeships, SGS provides a wide range of courses for school leavers, adults, university‑level learners and 14–16 year‑olds, plus online and part‑time options and specialist provision through its SGS University Centre and campuses focused on construction, arts, sport and technology. Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
