The Health Academy

The Health Academy is the education arm of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based across four dedicated teaching facilities at Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley & South Ribble Hospital. It supports the provision of safe, effective and compassionate care through educational programmes for current and aspiring healthcare staff. Apprenticeships at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust combine on‑the‑job training with formal study, typically one day a week, allowing individuals to earn while they learn. Programmes usually last between one and four years depending on level, with some routes leading to a degree. The Academy offers apprenticeships across a range of roles, including delivery of standards such as the Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker and Level 4 Learning and Skills Mentor. In addition to apprenticeships, The Health Academy provides wider education and training including Allied Health Professionals development, Cancer Education, Health Care Certificate, Human Factors and Simulation, Leadership and Organisational Development, resuscitation training, surgical and technical skills, and undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Learners are supported by a dedicated Learner Support team, and the Academy also offers work experience, widening participation initiatives, clinical placement support and access to library and learning resources.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
