About
Cranfield University
Cranfield University offers a portfolio of apprenticeship and work-based learning routes focused on higher-level technical and management skills. The university has been an early adopter of master’s-level (Level 7) apprenticeships and has delivered programmes in areas such as systems engineering and senior leadership that align to nationally approved apprenticeship standards. These programmes are designed for experienced professionals and graduates, typically delivered part‑time through blended learning (distance learning plus on‑campus teaching), and enable employers to use the Apprenticeship Levy to develop middle and senior managers and technical specialists where eligible. Cranfield also delivers Level 6 degree apprenticeships through MK:U, including Digital and Technology Solutions and other technical and management standards, providing BSc (Hons) awards while apprentices remain in employment. Apprenticeship provision is explicitly employer‑led, with content shaped around industry requirements and application of learning in the workplace, and supported by dedicated apprenticeship teams for employers and learners. In response to recent changes in government funding for Level 7 apprenticeships, Cranfield is refocusing on Level 6 apprenticeship routes at MK:U, Level 7 ‘top‑up’ postgraduate qualifications, customised non‑apprenticeship leadership development, and short skills accelerators, maintaining a strong emphasis on workforce development and leadership pipelines for organisations.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
